21/07/2010 - Last Chance to Apply for ‘A Day in the Life’
NCVO’s work shadowing initiative which offers VCS and central government staff the opportunity to work together for a day is closing to entries on Friday 23 July.
The scheme offers participants the chance to find out what each other does on a daily basis as well as discuss the wider context and challenges faced by each.
The initiative also offers valuable personal contact and the opportunity to share information and show the importance of grassroots work being done as well as gain important information first hand.
Government departments taking part in the scheme include the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and Office of Government Commerce.
All voluntary and community staff in England are eligible to apply by completing a short online application form outlining the work they do and what they would like to achieve from the day.
Travel bursaries of up to £100 are available to applicants from organisations with a maximum turnover of £100,000 and based at least 50 miles from central London.
